Introduction
Concerning
the endangered situation of this species, the efforts to save the animal
from extinction proved to go in vain. But we still choose this as the
subject of our green camp, for we hope the lessons we learned from the
baiji could persuade people into a sustainable mind.
The
cousin of baiji dolphin(Neophocaena phocaenoides), called "river
pig" by the people live along the river is following the step of
baiji dolphin. The species is supposed to be on the brink of extinction
by IUCN. The total amount is roughly estimated less than 2000 in the
Yangzi River.
We
are sure that our campaign can not change baiji dolphin's fate, but
we hope we can arouse the consciousness of the normal person in our
society that some of our old neighbours are disappearing from the planet.
From
the activity we expect that everyone know that the extinctions of animals
are not so far away from our lives and our everyday life can also affect
the living condition of other creatures. Changing our life style, paying
more attetion on the environmental issues, establishing more feasible
regulations and laws my safe our neighbors who have shared a planet
with us for thousands years.
We
will never give up our efforts to a colourful planet.

Green
Stone launched the green camp titled " The baiji conservation and
living condition survey " . Students from universities in JiangSu,
AnHui, ZheJiang, GanSu, BeiJing and some green youth attended the camp.
They started from ZhenJiang in Jiang Su to TongLing in AnHui, both cities
have baiji dolphin conservation area that is built to breed baiji whenever
there would be any captive ones. It lasted 10 days.
